When it comes to bass fishing, there are many ways to get the job done. Bass will go for live bait and fake lures alike. This means that there are also many different techniques that you could catch bass with. You, of course, don’t need to learn every single type of method, but it couldn’t hurt to learn several for your future fishing.
Learning your basics and applying those steps during fishing is essential. Starting from those basics, you’ll have to do some practicing to nail a few of the techniques. One well-known technique that can sometimes get pushed to the back burner is flipping and pitching. This technique is all about two methods of presenting your bait to a fish whenever you’re in close quarters. In both instances, you will keep your bait low to the surface and then place the bait exactly where you believe the bass to be. This is the most effective way to catch bass when they are in shallow water and heavy cover.
You’ll use this technique more so whenever you’re fishing in shallow waters that have a lot of vegetation, logs, or even docks. Depending on where you are fishing, you may be able to use these two techniques all the time. Whereas in other bodies of water you may only be able to use it particular times of the year.
